Thanks and have a Wonderful Summer!

Well the year certainly didn't end the way we hoped.  No time for a gentle wind down.  It seems unlikely we'll be back in school before the end of June so I'm writing to say thank you and have a wonderful summer.

To the students:

Thank you for being an amazing group of students.  Your energy, enthusiasm, cooperation and kindness toward each other, challenging questions, and thoughtful answers were really appreciated.  Thanks for all your smiles and for making me smile.

To the parents:

Thank you for raising such great kids.  And thank you for supporting your children in so many ways.  I knew I could always count on you for field trips, support with homework, special activities etc.

Have a wonderful summer.  Hopefully I'll see some of you in the neighbourhood.

Happy Fathers' Day

We needed full sun to make this work, and by the time we figured out the correct sun's angle and how to keep the signs from flapping in the wind, we ran out of sunny days for everyone to have a turn holding a sign.  But the message is for all the dads, grand dads etc. from all your children.

I hope each of you received a

paper weight too.  Rock on Dads!

Visits by Explorers

Unfortunately we did not have time to hear all of the explorers' speeches.  Keep your speech cards in case we're back at school next week.  Christopher Columbus and Martin Frobisher came dressed in their finery.

Pizza Art

The students worked well in their teams and shared with other teams when supplies were needed.  The pizzas were artistic and apparently all very yummy.  (I was able to sample a few.)  A huge thank you to Kelly, (Georgia G's mom) who helped in a very warm kitchen.

Sorry, Brock, Ryan, Owen, and Matthew.  I guess I forgot to take a picture of you with your cobra pizza.
