Our Yearend Celebration
The weather was perfect, the children had fun and played well together, and the adults, including the teachers, were able to relax. It was a great day!

Pizza Art
The students worked cooperatively to design and assemble pizzas. I was very impressed with how they worked as teams, even during cleanup, and the pizza artwork was amazing and tasty!

Flowers to say Thank You and Goodbye
As you are aware, Mrs. Martin is transferring to a new position at the end of this year. As well, Mrs. Jeffers, who may have taught your child in kindergarten, is leaving Brooksbank. She is retiring early next year so will work as a TOC until that time.
We will miss them both very much and know they will miss the children. Throughout the day on Thursday June 25th, the classes will take turns saying farewell and presenting a flower to each of them.
Please have your child bring 2 flowers on Thursday June 25th.

Thank you to all parents for checking your schedules and especially to those who are able to drive and to stay to help supervise.

Drivers, please arrive at the school at 9:30 unless it is raining. If it is raining, please arrive at 11:40. The plan is to leave the pool at about 2:00 and return to Brooksbank.
Please make sure your paperwork is complete at the school office.
All parents, please remind your child to bring a snack and lunch, drink(s), swim gear, and dress for the weather (sunscreen, hat, sun glasses and/or jacket etc.). Comfortable shoes should be worn for playing in the park. We will bring play equpiment from school.

Pizza Art
Hopefully by now your child has told you about the pizza art project. The students are working in small groups to create pizzas with a picture. They have created a plan for the pizza. On Friday June 19th, they will assemble the pizzas, bake them and eat them.
Your child has a list in his/her planner of the food or cooking utensils he/she has offerred to bring (on the morning of June 19th). The students have been asked to bring premade crusts, and all toppings preshredded, sliced etc. and in containers that can go home with any leftovers.
Your child should bring a recess snack as usual, and a drink and any other lunch items you think are necessary to go with the pizza.
Should be fun, creative, and yummy!

Sky Art
You may have heard that the students and staff of Sutherland and the feeder schools, including Brooksbank, will be working together to create a masive sky art project. Our students will be introduced to the project at an assembly at Sutherland School tomorrow. At 9:30 tomorrow, June 12, we will walk to Sutherland and will return to Brooksbank by 11:30 approximately.
The sky art project will take place on Monday June 15th on the grass baseball field next to Brooksbank.
On Tuesday, we will leave Brooksbank just after attendance in order to walk to Sutherland by 9:30 when our final recognition assembly will begin. This will be followed by the Sky Art celebration assembly. We will return to Brooksbank by 11:30 approximately.
Look forward to seeing your child as an important part of an art piece!
