We Had A Busy Week

A field trip to Sutherland's Grade 9 Math Fair was followed by a hands on presentation about the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) by Karly, a North Vancouver City representative, and then a field trip to the Gordon Smith Gallery.  I was impressed by the students enthusiasm, polite, safe behaviour while walking and their original and thoughtful ideas and questions.  They had fun solving Math puzzles at Sutherland School and had fun creating abstract collages similar in style to the artist, Gathie Falk,  at the gallery.  Thanks to Kristine, Carson's mom, Karen, TJ's mom, and Julie, Tyler's mom, for helping out on the field trip to the gallery!

Remembrance Day

The students sang beautifully at the assembly.  The song was very moving as was the whole assembly.  Thank you for supporting your children as they learned the song.  We had a thoughtful discussion about what the lyrics meant, and they created ephemeral art representing compassion for other people and for our planet.

Happy Hallowe'en (Joyeux Halloween)

The students presented Halloween safety skits to their Grade 1 buddies.  Oscars for all!  Then they presented safety certificates.

Have a safe sugary Hallowe'en!
