The Grade 5 students debated whether a (fictitious)
road should be built in the mountains north of Mount Seymour. Mayor Ishaan and Councillors Mira and Iman presided. The other students took on the roles of developers, environmentalists, timber company representatives, back country enthusiasts etc. They presented their arguments and then there was a question period. The debate was lively, intelligent, and very professional! In the end the mayor and council members voted. You'll have to ask your child whether the road will be built or not.
